Star Moss

So who would have thought there would be a moss up here in this arid climate at 8500 ft? It’s no wonder I had a had time figuring this one out. Also though, to my defense, I’ve never it in it’s growth stage, only like this… I guess I’ll have to wait and then get out and find it after a rain. It’s then that they say it gets reddish green.

You can see from the picture that it gets its other common name from its dry state of being, where it becomes twisted.
