Cumulus clouds are the most beautiful clouds you’ll ever see, imho. They not only grow outwards with flattened bases, they also grow tremendously upwards into cottony-cauliflowers.
When they are pure white, they are said to be fair weather clouds. However, when they contain shades of very dark gray, they contain heavy rain and are known as Cumulonimbus, a.k.a. the Thunderstorm clouds. I’ve seen some of the most beautiful lightening events in super charged cumulonimbus clouds.
